No Excuses Not To Start Your Irish Research!
This week's article is coming to you early as I am busy later on this week but have the time at the present. However, this gives you more time to find your (particularly Irish) relatives.
You may remember, last year, the National Library of Ireland released images of the Catholic parish registers for Ireland. Obviously, this gave us the opportunity to find our relatives by searching through the images, like you would at a Records Office. However, this can be quite time consuming so Find My Past have transcribed these entries and have released these records for us to view for FREE! Even better is they have made all of their Irish records free to view until the 7 March and if you are already a subscriber they will add 3 days to your subscription!
To compensate for this Ancestry have made all of their Irish records free to view until the 31 March and Lost Cousins (site set up to help find living cousins) have also made their site completely free to use until the 8 March.
This will allow us to have the best of both sites to find our Irish relatives so there has never been a better time for you to start finding your Irish branches of your tree. Obviously all three of these sites will require you to create an account - which you can do for free and without giving over any bank details.
I will be hoping to find information about my Cosgrave and Phillips lines over this time and if I find anything interesting I might post an article to show what I have found - so stay tuned!
