My Shires
My Shires are from the Crewkerne line, with the earliest known being John Shire, an apothecarist. This line moves to the Buckland St Mary area when the Reverend John Shire (there were a lot of Johns) became curate there. The Shire family grew from his son also called John and became a common name in the area. I am also interested in the East Chinnock line although I am not descended from them.
