"What's The One Family Item You Wished You Had?"
Inspired by this post on RootsChat, this week's article is about what family item you wished you had.
This got me thinking on what I would chose. There are a lot of posts saying World War 1 medals. Obviously, I would really like my ancestors medals but I don't know the possibility of getting them any time soon...
Another recurring item is family bibles. Another item I wish I had. But this time I have no idea if my family actually had one, let alone of its existence.
Although I would like both of the above, I would actually like to have some of Thomas Crump's Ivory work. Thomas Crump lived from 1834-1871 and was my 4xGreat Grandfather. He was an Ivory Turner, who lived in Bethnal Green, London. When I first saw the occupation it got me interested as it was very different to the majority of my ancestors.
Looking on the internet, it seems a Ivory Turner would have made things like combs, boxes and billiard balls. So somewhere out there, there must be a box or a comb that he made.
If you want to tell us which item you would chose you can join in with the discussion on RootsChat or you can comment below.
